Stuck in a Rut?

I was stuck in a nasty rut earlier this week, feeling really low vibe and in tears multiple times. Part of what was keeping me stuck was the comeback tour of old stories, that inner monologue of negativity.

Extraordinary Experiences

Extraordinary things happen when we open ourselves to new ways of looking at life and to the power of something bigger than us, whether that be the Universe, God, Spirit, Nature, etc. I had one such experience this week during a Reiki training.

New Intentions

The winter season and new year are excellent opportunities to reflect and look inward. In that stillness and from a place of self-love, I invite you to consider your intentions for this year.

Got Good Friends?

I had the best time last weekend celebrating the marriage of two dear friends and getting to know their families and friends. Riding this awesome wave got me thinking about who I spend time with and how I feel when we’re together.

Take 5 (or even 15)

This is the best thing I’ve found to relieve low back pain, reset the spine and of course relax.

Why Do It If It Doesn't Feel Good?!

Are there things you do just because you think they’re good for you, but that you really don’t enjoy?  Life is too short to be miserable and to drag ourselves through something that is intended to make us feel better.

Could You Extend Your Vacation?

Americans are often funny about vacations – we don’t use our vacation time, when we do we feel guilty and any vacation bliss we achieve is short lived because when we return we’re right back to our habits of overwork and underplay.  I realized on this last vacation that there were distinct elements that made it better than ever and many of those elements could be infused into my “real” life.

Do You Believe In You?

I love a fresh start, a clean slate.  While I think something as small as a deep breath can wipe the slate, the end of the year also represents an opportunity to begin again.

Stress and Here Versus There

“Stress is caused by being here but wanting to be there." -Eckhart Tolle. I love that quote by because it’s so simple.  Stress often feels pretty complex, however he’s right, stress occurs when our perception of what’s happening isn’t what we want.
