K.I.S.S.

I’ve heard from multiple people recently that my messages make it seem so simple. “It” being anything from feeling confident in your own skin and living authentically to being empowered and feeling an overall sense of wellbeing. The reality is, IT is simple. Feeling our best and living our truth doesn’t have to be complex.

Don’t confuse simple with easy. The journey of removing masks, honoring our truest desires and feeling healthy is sometimes hard, though rarely does it need to be complicated. Our mindset often makes this transformation complex. If our thoughts are focused on self-criticism and self-doubt, then we’ve added a lot of layers of complexity and we’ve also made it even harder than it already is to develop new habits. It’s nearly impossible to grow and change when your mindset is negative.

I invite you to K.I.S.S.: keep it super simple. Start with the new belief that small, new actions have a big impact on how you feel. Then pick a few new actions and test them out for a week. Your life will look vastly different in three months, six months, a year and so on; however it doesn’t need to look vastly different at this moment. You don’t need to pull the rug out and overhaul everything! Start small and commit to consistency, then continue to add new actions as you develop new habits.

Here are some of my favorite small actions that make big impacts. Select a few that resonate with you and then see which ones work well for you, keep those and leave the ones that don’t. Each week continue to add and subtract based on what’s working.

  • Drink more water. This will always be on my list, I’m still amazed at how much better I feel when I drink enough water.
  • Set a positive intention and repeat it to yourself many times throughout the day.
  • Pause and take deep, steady, cleansing breaths.
  • Follow a schedule and include work, self-care and fun.
  • Read books, magazines and blogs that inspire and empower you.
  • Move for at least five minutes each day.
  • Have fewer foods and drinks with added sugar.
  • Go to bed 15 minutes earlier.

As always, I would love to hear from you! What simple actions help you live your best life? What’s working for you and what’s not as you work to transform?

Xo,
Meg
